Pretty Cool Looking Cobraheads...and the Pole setup is Pretty Unique too.
GullWhiz   [Aug 21, 2010 at 01:39 AM]
There are similar pole setups like this in LA airport I believe....they formerly had 1000 watt cobraheads, but was replaced with 400 watt cobraheads. Also another difference is the arms had guylines connected to each other!

NEWS FLASH! These cobraheads, I was told by a friend who used to live in Quebec, Canada, that these are SKYLINE SKYLIGHT luminaires! I have never personally heard of this company and never seen one in the USA, but I was told this company has since gone out of biz.

Interesting info Dave thanks, I've always though that these were Sylvania-Powerlite lumes...never heard of the company before too.

Cool, hey Dave does your friend who use to live in Quebec have any lights?
Silverliner14B   [Mar 17, 2011 at 06:23 PM]
He found out by using bioculars. He now lives in the USA, but he says he has a 60s Powerlite mercury cobrahead and some Canadian mercury lamps.

Silverliner14B   [Mar 17, 2011 at 08:54 PM]
No problem guys, glad to have finally helped solve the mystery Wink Actually my bud gets the credit. I will see if he wants to join!

Great, I also almost got one of these last week, unfortunately the gas station it was at was demolished and the contractor never saved it for me like they promised Mad
joe_347V   [Mar 17, 2011 at 10:00 PM]
Now we just have to find out what that big Powerlite's model # is.

@Niall it's too bad they didn't save them for you, it would have been cool to see one up close Confused
gailgrove   [Mar 18, 2011 at 05:16 PM]
Yeah, oh well there are more around.
Silverliner14B   [Mar 18, 2011 at 07:26 PM]
The one you were supposed to get might have been accidentally damaged so they took it. Too bad really. Rlshieldjr and I were supposed to get a couple Revere clamshells from a strip mall, but they ended up being destroyed (along with a couple Silverliner OV25s) because the person who lowered the poles didn't do it right and accidentally dropped them on the pavement, destroying the lights and almost hit some cars.
gailgrove   [Mar 18, 2011 at 08:52 PM]
Considering they tried to take it down with a excavator its not that surprising it was damaged, I was also suppose to get 2 AEL 327s, but like I said there are quite a few more of these lights around so hopefully I'll be able to get one some day.
