100w bulbs made in 2012!!!
Yep these are general service 100w incandescent bulbs, not rough service or some other exempt type, see the '2' on the etch? Its interesting how some certain types happen to slip by the deadline for a bit, or is this a black market?!

Using up existing material maybe (packaging, filaments, etc.)?

Is the incandescent bulb ban exists in the Mexico market? Confused
Silverliner14B   [Jan 11, 2013 at 02:15 AM]
not sure why this product did not cease production as of december 31st 2011, but I know the GE plant in mexico still makes 100w bulbs for sale in canada and other countries where they are still legal. mexico is following the USA in the incandescent ban, same deadlines etc.

Here I noticed the price for a 4-pack of Soft Whites jumped from 1,49$ to 2,83$ just after the US-ban. I assume the abrupt drop in sales volume has something to do with this.

Does the extra-long life qualify it as a specialty incandescent?

Nope, unless it is a rough service type.
