What is the date stamp under the ballast?
joe_347V   [Feb 20, 2010 at 05:24 PM]
Very nice find, VHO ballasts are usually really expensive when new.

Where excactly is the Date Stamp at?...i saw some numbers on the bottom but they looked confusing...
joe_347V   [Feb 24, 2010 at 11:08 PM]
Some ballasts have a simple date stamp on the bottom or the end flanges like in the form M-YY like 3-77 or C-77 which is March 1977 in both cases while some like yours has a bunch of numbers and letters on the bottom representing the date code. I guess rjluna2 was asking for that code. Hope that helps to clear things a bit.

Yes, it is at the bottom of the ballast and yes, it can be confusing. Just read off the numbers in order and I can do the rest. Thanks Wink

How this ballast can run ALL wattages and types of neon VHO fluorescent lamps? It is not electronic.
Form109   [Feb 25, 2010 at 04:58 AM]
i DIDNT say it could run ALL wattages and Types..the Ballast HAS a list of lamp currents, wattage and lamp designations on it....i do not imply that it will run all of these wattages. Confused
TiCoune66   [Feb 25, 2010 at 04:29 PM]
HO & VHO fluorescents run at constant current. All HO fluorescents run at 800mA and VHOs at 1500mA (unless I'm wrong), the voltage rises as the wattage is higher, that's most likely why the ballast can run several lenghts of VHO lamps.

Thank you Vince...and rjuna2 the Date Code is 08144217 / B2938897.

Oh and this should date to May 2008.
Form109   [Jan 08, 2012 at 03:27 AM]
Finally!..i've been waiting for that for almost Two years. Laughing

Laughing I think everyone here forgot about this date code. This will be helpful when deciphering date codes if you want to date them yourself.
