Alliance 17A240E ballast, made by Canadian General Electric in 11/91!
It came from one of my Sylvania GTE fixtures. Pretty interesting unit since GE sold its ballast division in the late 80s. This ballast has the "1911" datecode stamped, which translates into 11/91. As you can see, the label is 99% identical to those found on CGE ballasts. There are two possibilities:

a) This ballast has been indeed made by Canadian General Electric, which would mean GE kept the Canadian ballast division for a longer time.

OR

b) CGE sold its ballast division to Alliance.

I think I once saw a fixture with a similar looking ballast at Restore, looking back, I guess I should have grabbed it just for the ballast. (didn't have enough room at the time)
