Queens, New York

In the 2000s, two-section (red and green) traffic signals were scattered in areas of Queens in New York City. One area was the Rockaways. Most were located on Shore Front Pkwy., and I remember I saw many of them there over ten years ago. This picture shows a set-up from there, which was taken by Jeff Saltzman sometime in 2000.

As time progressed, these traffic signals continued to dwindle, and, in 2006, the last handful were removed from service on Shore Front Pkwy. Alas, the extinction of vehicular red and green heads in throughout New York City.
