M400A(?)
Here is an M400 split-door/Powrdoor. Not sure if it's an A1 or A2 model, you guys probably can tell. Last time I saw this light, it was not functional. Definitely a Merc, though.

Yes a late 60s version....

If you go to Illinois 68, North Wolf road/South Wolf Road, Wheeling Ill. In this area driving on Dundee Road in both ways... Go one block or two East, you'll see one RARE McGraw Unidor 400 MERCURY VAPOR! Last time I saw it it was dayburning....Also If you go West, There's two McGraw Unistyle 400s and a few REMOTE photocell SILVER GE M-250Rs!!!!!! Worth seeing! Went on that road every week!

I'll have to check that out! I passed a Unidor 400 FCO today, but couldn't snap a decent pic. I'll get it eventually!

A good hint: The GE lights with a single door have an R (or no second letter at all) and the double doored lights (except for the 70's M-400 "split door") You can tell the M-400A from the M-400 "split door" by looking at the rear door. The M-400 "split door" usually no vents ( the early ones like mine did have vents though). The M-400A has vents holes.

Yeah, I didn't realize until after I uploaded the pic that it was a single door. From the road it looked like a split door.

What is this intersection beside Rand Rd (Route 12)?
gramirez2012   [Nov 09, 2011 at 05:38 PM]
Rt.12 and Ela Rd in Lake Zurich.

I used to go Illinois Route 12 to McHenry, Illinois to get my SAAB fixed there. There was SAAB dealer who owned by my father's friend a former co-worker from IBM.

This light now has a blue photocell on it. ComEd must be using different photocells now.
