Hubbell
This one is a Hubbell but I forget which model. Hubbells are VERY uncommon around here. I believe this light and the others around it are owned by IDOT. There are some M400A3's and A2FCO's as well. All HPS, possibly 400w.

Man that light is in the atmasphere, think it high enough? Laughing
gramirez2012   [Oct 25, 2011 at 07:10 PM]
That's why I think it's an IDOT light, they usually mount their street lights really high!

CDOT lights are really varied... I think CDOT lights in Denver use the contractors to build them, so they look a lot like XCEL energy choices. Especially the lights on I-70 i the mountains. But I wonder if the lights on I-70 are maintained by Xcel energy, because I-70 stays in that Xcel energy zone the whole time in the mountains to grand junction.

But to this picture: This is a Hubbel RLC. You see lots of these in Colorado, well in the southwest side. Like close to Durango. They get fairly common.

I just call it the RL, no point changing the model because of the lens configuration.
LilCinnamon   [Oct 25, 2011 at 07:39 PM]
What about the OVH/OVG? xD Those change model names because of the lens configuration. Also OVD/OVF/OVY. Three different names for the same fixture, but different lens configuration. xD
gailgrove   [Oct 25, 2011 at 07:41 PM]
I don't like that either. Rolling Eyes But for the Hubbell's they are the same fixture, they all use the same spec sheets.

I remember those! Also Interstate 94 has a BUNCH of those median installed twin short arms (BUT REALLY TALL POLES) set with MOSTLY GE M-400A2 HPS!!!! Am I right Gil? They even continue into Chicago city until you get DEEPER, then they become a bunch of TALL Davit arms!!! With smaller GE FCO fixtures!
LilCinnamon   [Oct 25, 2011 at 07:47 PM]
OVZ and OVX are the only Coopers do not change because of Lens Configuation.

And not exactly, the RLC is designed a bit different as it has a flatter door. Unlike the drop lens version which has an angle.

But like you said they have the same spec sheet.

I don't really get the changing names per lens thing either. Why Cooper and Hubbel do it, Beats me.
gailgrove   [Oct 25, 2011 at 07:48 PM]
How tall are these poles?
gramirez2012   [Oct 25, 2011 at 07:58 PM]
@Jace, Yes! IDOT uses a TON of FCO M400A2's on the highways.
GullWhiz   [Oct 25, 2011 at 08:51 PM]
But there are some drop lens GE M-400A1s off 294 near North Milwaukee Ave. though.....
gramirez2012   [Oct 25, 2011 at 08:52 PM]
Yup, there are some drop lens ones on 90 too, but most I've seen are FCO.
GullWhiz   [Oct 25, 2011 at 08:55 PM]
Higher rise truss arms the older setup... the lower rise like above are newer.....in Northbrook and those areas you will see those with ROUND weird FCO/Sag lens fixtures...I haven't yet to be able to identify them, but they used a few different round ones.....There's a lot of those in North Milwaukee Ave to South Milwaukee Ave....if you keep going south...BOOM you see Chicago Crime Fighters on taller poles with shorter arms for just like 3 blocks then its back to the round fixtures!

What intersection is this located beside Dundee Road?
gramirez2012   [Nov 09, 2011 at 05:39 PM]
Dundee & Ela in Inverness.
rjluna2   [Nov 09, 2011 at 05:53 PM]
