Not really.....from my experience....NEMA is more common in the ComEd area than other places.......Try New York City or Long Island Power Aurthoirty or even PEPCO!!!! You will find NEMA heads in residental roads in ComEd, also there are some clamshells on concrete poles in parts of Cook County....they are scattered in some parts.....so can't say they are rare in Cook County LOL.....PEPCO its rare only if you don't count the incandescent gumballs!

I did see gumballs too on the concrete poles in ComEd area, those are also NEMA fixtures.......now I have never seen Admiral Hat NEMA fixture or Quartermoon NEMA fixtures in ComEd!

Maybe they are more common in other parts of the county, but where I live it's 99% cobra heads.

Yeah but those NEMA with bucket fixtures are more common in ComEd than a Form 109 in BGE LOL Very Happy

Now again to clarify that an "NEMA Head" does not mean a bucket fixture.....its basically a fixture with NEMA specifictions........the gumballs, the teardrops, the admiral hats, the quartermoons, the bucket fixtures....those that has 8 inch fitting rim with clip latchs are all NEMA fixtures!......you could easily remove the bucket refractor and install a gumball refractor and you got a mercury gumball! It still is an NEMA head..because its the fixture on top...while the bucket is a separate part... Wink

I didn't say the NEMA buckets were COMMON IN ComEd either.....its just not rare either........I saw more NEMA buckets than a Josyln spaceship fixtures in ComEd but I saw more Josyln Spaceships in ComEd than in BGE or even PEPCO area....

That's one tipping pole. Shocked i've never seen a NEMA head on such a long arm either.
