I know of one 400 watt HPS OVX with a plastic lens, it was installed about a year ago and already is yellowing Rolling Eyes

i've seen OVX With plastic lenses 7 Miles south of my City in a small town....they are 100 Watt HPS i think...but yes the plastic cooper lense looks funny on the OVX....the glass lense...and on the flipside i like the OVZ better with the Plastic lense than the glass looks wise.

Try using a plastic refractor on a 400 watt OVX?? Watch how fast it will burn, not just yellow. Even 250s are too high.

I've seen plastic refractors used with 250w HPS. On 400 though, the lens practically turns to soup.

In Salamanca, New York, most of the streetlights are 250 watt HPS and use acrylic or polycarbonate refractors. The older Crouse-Hinds OV15s' refractors have browned out, and they're darned near 30 years old.

I have seen C-Hinds OV-15s in NYC with browned out "Westinghouse style" refractors in New York City....

Is this the same one that was dayburning in the other picture?

By the way, The top housing of the OVX is SMALL. Or very thin. If you take all the components out of it you will be how surprised how much space you have freed. xD

No, that was on another street.
