It's actually metal halide, you can barley see the arctube through the refractor.

Well it might have a mercury vapor ballast, it most likely DOES have a mercury vapor ballast, they just stuck an MH lamp in there, my M-1000 had an MH lamp with the 1000 watt MV ballast.
