StreetLight #187 - Tennis-Court FloodLights
Floodlight-type fixtures for tennis courts. I did like how they were all adjusted a bit differently.

Remote ballasted Widelites Smile

neat. I didn't know they were remote ballasts

Those often make for some great lamp finds as they're not generally used as much so the lamps last much longer.

The ballast is right in that cylindrical can behind the reflector on each flood. The remote ballast encased in tar makes the ballast last much longer too. Typically all the guts are crammed into an undersized flood light housing and cook to death in a fear years.

@gmercury2000:
Never thought about that, but yeah totally makes sense!

@Mike:
Yep once GullWhiz mentioned they were remote ballasted, I figured that 'can' had to be the ballast Smile

Another reason these tend to have more vintage lamps is because these things are a PITA to relamp so they probably don't bother until the lamp bites the dust completely lol.

Yup, they are a pain. Lol but I've made some really nice finds, got a couple very early GE pre Bonusline lamps from these. Still work too.

Awesome! Shocked Very Happy PRE-Bonusline! Cool

Yeah, they have the basic GE logo and says AH-1 400W. No phosphor code. I'll have to dig them out and post a pic.

Cool. I'll have to keep a watch out for that pic!
