The pre-Sun-Tech Fisher Pierce photocells were the BEST. The electronic ones were just as good as their oldschool electromagnetic relay ones. Once Sun-Tech bought them out, the quality went down a few rungs on the ladder. And now they're rubbish.

The pre Sun-Tech Fisher Pierce photocontrols were great. However I wouldn't say they went down in quality when Sun-Tech bought them. They were still really good. I have seen plenty of older Sun-Tech's from around the time they bought Fisher Pierce in 2003 that are great. I did not notice the quality get worse til recently, around 2012. I think they have since made improvements to correct the dayburning issue.

The quality wasn't bad, but it still got worse after Sun-Tech bought them. The pre-FP ones were just great enough that even the drop in quality still meant they were decent PCs. Just not as good as the Fisher Pierce-only PCs. Those things were GREAT!
