If I remember correctly, I believe this one lost some sensitivity since it was aiming directly at the sun during its life.

Yeah the DTLs here always used to do that if they were facing the sun since all our DTLs used CdS cells for sensors. The brown Sun-Techs NGrid used had CdS cells too but by 2010 they were using silicon eye photocells.
