wow nice! Is the 6ft of leads sun rated wire that utility companies use? Yeah my 50W HPS Cooper OVC from 1990 is light as a feather too. I can hold it with just my index finger lol. (that's with its plastic lens though)

Right now my OVC is mounted on the pole in my backyard. It's not used dusk to dawn though. Actually, i don't really use the street light in my backyard that much at all... it's pretty much just so i have more room in the house lol, though it is wired to a plug so i can plug it in when i want to use it... the 50W HPS seems a lot dimmer than 100W MV.

Yes the cables are sunlight and oil resistant, I do believe there #10 stranded too. Not the normal #14 wire.

i've always wondered, where can you buy the triplex #2 wire they use for the 120/N/120 line and where can you get this sunlight resistant wire?

Local electrical supply house. or look online. I bought my duplex through Capital Tristate electrical supply.

ahh i found the site and looked around. seems like there's all different kinds of overhead feed wires? They don't list any prices either. I'd guess that sort of wire is pretty expensive?
