GE 10w 12v halogen
I have a number of outdoor landscape floodlights and some indoor uplights that use these lamps. And I hate them. They are hard to change, expensive and burn out frequently, rarely making it to even 1000 hours. The Hungarian GE's like this one or the Chinese Philips with their axial filaments seem to be equally bad, and no, I don't touch them with my fingers or run them overvoltage (if anything, slightly under, and that seems to help). LED is starting to look like a worthwhile retrofit...I've converted one to date, but the conversion does negatively affect the beam pattern.

I replaced a halogen landscape light that had a deteriorated mini bipin socket with a LED version,I'm happy with it and it's a little brighter than the halogens.
