China lamp doesn't like China lantern
I could not get this "GE" 3000K triphosphor lamp to fire up in a battery-powered F4T5 lantern. It just would get stuck in this glow state. While it looks pretty, the ballast and the lamp weren't really happy in this state. The lamp came in a 120v electronically-ballasted undercabinet light (and it works fine in that, but I wanted a CW tube in it). I wonder if the lamp uses krypton which increases the starting voltage. I don't have any T5 preheat ballast to test it with, so if someone else wants to play with this, I'll send it to you for the cost of shipping.
