The LEDs lit!!!
Here you see what you have been waiting for from this picture and this picture here

What you see are 6 LED canopies and a wallpack/flood on the end.....

A good comparation...see the 2 wall packs in the distance on the building, those are mercs, which was installed when this part of the building was installed in 1988! There is a newer part (on the right and behind me) which was installed in 1992...there was one wallpack in the front, exact same model and make as the ones in the distance but in HPS.....There is also one wallpack in the older 1988 wing that had MV, but apparently ballast failed, a new wallpack the same brand and similar make (it looks almost exactly the same) which was replaced just 1 or 2 years ago...its MH!

Anyway how do those LEDs look to you?

They seem rather glarey, the area is well enough lit now but I can't help but wonder what it will be like in a few years. Do you think you could find out who the manufacture of these fixtures are?

I saw a conversion unit last night on RS website, that replaces a 2D lamp to a LED plate. Nice looking white reflector plate that is a drop in 2D replacement, about the same lumens but lower power consumption. Only drawback is the price of nearly $100 each. Bought instead some G4 LED replacements, some capacitors ( what I wanted only......) some electronic starters and a pair of Luxeon stars. All will be here in a week.

They are not bad actually.......and they have heat sinks.....plus they aren't on 24/7 either......they are manually controlled for when we need it! So they will do well....
