Nicely done! Have any low-flying planes in your area?

Thanks! Yeah sometimes, the Abbotsford Int. Airport is only a few miles away LOL.

You want to live here in Liverpool I live 5 miles from John Lennon Airport and 35 miles from Manchester International Airport, you see a lot of jets flying over my house every 5 minutes, good job I don't have my Collection lit up in the Garden or I will need to ezplain why a Jumbo Jet has landed in my street.

Darren

Do you have Other Lights such as Approach/Runway Taxiway Lights or just the Obstruction Lights.

All the Best

Hi Colin, I just have the obstruction lights so far in my collection. Sounds like you have a lot of air traffic there,at least the Abbotsford Int. Airport is not as busy as the Vancouver Int. Airport about 30 miles West of here. The jets are already pretty high by the time they pass over from Vancouver, and the jets taking off or approaching Abbotsford Airport come in from the NE or take off to the SE and as I am NW of the airport there is less jet air traffic here, more private plane and helicopter traffic. When the Abbosford Airshow takes place every August, then there is all kinds of different aircraft!

Hi Darren

Yep we have a lot of Air Traffic where I live, I actually have a Radio Scanner which I listen into the Pilots I pick up aircraft from local flights to International flights to the USA and Camada, on Shortwave I can pick up Gander ATCC in Canada and New York ATCC in the USA. I even pick up Military Air Traffic too.

Re Obstruction Lights for many years I was missing them from my Collection now I have a few UK and US lights, my fist Airport Light I bought was the Thorn HIA7-1 and a UK GEC ZA413 since then with the help of E-bay, fellow Collectors and a Airport Lighting Forum I have built up a good Collection, however I would like to get a couple more Inset and Elevated Lights, Airport Lamps and a PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator) unit.

All the Best

Colin
