Update: one of the lamps are leaked though and the ballast EOL cuts out midway through warmup with that lamp. The other one works fine and is pretty bright for 39w. Shocked

Anyone know a cheap place for 39w MH lamps?

Cool find...I've seen those in stores before...

heh i saw this pic but overlooked it. Embarrassed Razz Laughing Nice track lights! I unfortunatly don't know any cheap place that sells low wattage PSMH lamps. I guess ebay or ReStore is the best bet. BTW, I'm finally going to the South County Habbitat ReStore! On saturday...

Thanks, I took apart the other one and it turns out the other one has a Vossloh-Schwabe ballast instead of a Universal ballast. Since both ballasts are electronic it's kind of odd seeing a HID light warm up and strike without the familiar bzzt! sound a regular ballast makes. Laughing

@Mike, I hope you score something good at Restore...I'm sure you heard of all the stories here. Razz

I got one at a ReStore, for $5 Smile

@ Joe; yeah it was like when you turn on a fluorescent light thinking it's magnetic and it turns out to be electronic junkoka. Laughing Yeah I've heard everyone's great scores at ReStores and I'm really hoping to get some stuff! Very Happy

Heh, well at least mine came with name brand electronic ballasts...the big box specials are a different story, they come with ballast brands you never heard of before. Razz

Neat find, i know there are few ttypes of CMH lamps for electronic ballasts, what kind of lamps do these use? I have a lamp with a twist lock base and plug in

Cool Mike!
joe_347V   [Dec 28, 2012 at 07:19 PM]
Thanks Aaron, these use regular PAR screw in CMH lamps.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Dec 28, 2012 at 07:23 PM]
Hmm I thought these used weird lamps for some reason...not PARs...
Kinda off topic, but Joe have you seen my word's brightest space heater pic? Look in my gallery...I know I'm ignorant but I still can't figure out how to make links Laughing

Great score for $6 even if one needs a new lamp. I never find stuff like that at thrift stores...

Thanks, I rarely find stuff like this at thrift stores too, it seems Restore generally has this stuff for sale though.
