Ahhh. Razz

Gonna feel nice when it hits some body... Shocked They sign is warnign them that they can't stop under the light cuz the door might hit them!
gailgrove   [Nov 18, 2011 at 09:38 PM]
Nope, the door on the model 25 can't fall off, unless the hinge keeper is disengaged and if it was the door would of fallen off as soon as it opened. Better report this though, if you haven't already.
gramirez2012   [Nov 18, 2011 at 10:24 PM]
Yup, I reported it already. Smile

Actually the doors CAN fall off, I know of three Model 25's with doors COMPLETELY off in Denver. It will just take a while. The latch isn't perfect and after enough vibration it CAN fall off.

What did I just say above? Rolling Eyes
streetlight98   [Nov 20, 2011 at 06:23 PM]
They will fall off overtime. It doesn't have to be right when the door is opened. The doors on the ones here seem to latch well, but some will come unlatched and if it's windy enough, they'll come unhinged....

Unfortunately, this fixture has been replaced. Sad There is a new M400R3 400w HPS fixture in its place.
gailgrove   [Nov 22, 2011 at 08:27 PM]
What the heck? Rolling Eyes Why would they of done that? Unless the latch was broken or the ballast just died. Mad
joe_347V   [Nov 22, 2011 at 09:08 PM]
Rolling Eyes Why did they do that for. and don't even get started about people who replace 400w MV with 400w HPS. Rolling Eyes

Yeah it seemed like all they had to do was close the door. Unless the door wouldn't close or something. Or maybe they discovered another issue with the light. Confused
mercuryvaporrocks   [Nov 22, 2011 at 09:18 PM]
Maybe the ballast was bad.
gailgrove   [Nov 22, 2011 at 09:33 PM]
That was already mentioned, it is a likely cause, that or the latch was broken.
Antstar85   [Nov 22, 2011 at 09:36 PM]
If it was just a Latch, I would of given it the good ole Tape Job! Laughing
streetlight98   [Nov 22, 2011 at 10:40 PM]
They do that here... (the tape thing)
mercuryvaporrocks   [Nov 23, 2011 at 12:27 AM]
I've seen fixtures that are still in service without the door in my area.
gramirez2012   [Nov 23, 2011 at 01:17 AM]
Same here. Most of the ones without doors are M250's. When I report them, the entire fixture is usually replaced. BTW I drove past the replacement HPS fixture tonight - it is INSANELY bright...

I've seen them tape up fixtures before too, here's some examples.
