The MH lamp looks oddly shaped for some reason.

yeah i think that's a CVM....these AE's have a very euro look to them, especially if they used the bottom mount...they look better than a durastar or most LED fixtures but i prefer the more traditional look of the 125.

Thumbs up for the uncentered lamp Laughing
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 01:28 AM]
I guess they never heard of adjusting the socket/socket extenders. Laughing

its oddly shaped because Joe bend the lamp with his mind rays. Razz

Umm...no it's a GE lamp MH lamp...they are shaped this way...I have 2 of those lamps with this shape! It is SHAPED that way in matter of fact!!! So don't worry, you are not seeing things. This is an actual shape of a GE MH lamp they make today!

You can see the odd shaped lamp here!!!!!!!!

looks like a Schreder Onyx
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 07:09 PM]
@magslight, it may look that way but this is an AEL fixture.
streetlight98   [Sep 20, 2011 at 07:50 PM]
why is the lamp soo small? It looks more like a 100w MH lamp rather a 250w one.
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 07:52 PM]
Well they didn't centre the lamp, it's in a medium fixture, and the lamp has a weird shape. Razz
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 07:52 PM]
Did you look at Jace's picture? It seems to be about the same size a regular ED-28 lamp.
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 07:54 PM]
I did, and it looks like the odd shape makes it appear to be smaller than a ED 28 even when it isn't. Anyone know what this shape is called?
gailgrove   [Sep 20, 2011 at 07:57 PM]
That comment was for Michael, you posted your's at just about the same time Razz
joe_347V   [Sep 20, 2011 at 07:59 PM]
I've seen that happen quite a few time before on here. Razz

CAW! That's me right there! Laughing

I saw that weird shaped lamp when I last saw Jace.

Any reasons for that oddball shaped lamp? Are they here to stay or were they a demo trial that failed?
GullWhiz   [Sep 21, 2011 at 01:47 AM]
They are there to stay.....the packaging even has labels that says "New Lamp Shape"
joe_347V   [Sep 21, 2011 at 02:01 AM]
What does the package call the shape? Laughing
FGS   [Sep 21, 2011 at 02:05 AM]
Better, why did GE do that change in the first place?
