GE M-250R with the gray paint, I believe from the late 60's
streetlight98   [Sep 13, 2011 at 01:24 AM]
Looks to have some brown paint too.

Wow this shot!
Antstar85   [Sep 13, 2011 at 01:26 AM]
No that's mold from not getting to much sun, we have lights up here that do that
streetlight98   [Sep 13, 2011 at 01:29 AM]
Oh. Here it's black, almost like ashes.
Antstar85   [Sep 13, 2011 at 01:41 AM]
I depends on the Environent the fixtures in.

These first appeared in Chicago's alleys back in late 1966.

Yep the GE M250R! I have never seen mould growing on a fixture before!
joe_347V   [Sep 13, 2011 at 07:35 PM]
I've also never seen a mouldy streeetlight before too!
streetlight98   [Sep 13, 2011 at 07:59 PM]
I've only seen mold on some lights. I honestly though they caught on fire because it looked like black soot.
gailgrove   [Sep 13, 2011 at 08:02 PM]
I can picture it being a pain to clean off.
streetlight98   [Sep 13, 2011 at 08:05 PM]
Nah. Just sand it off. Laughing The mold is gonna leave a mark anyways, so I'd just repaint it.
gailgrove   [Sep 13, 2011 at 08:09 PM]
I would consider that a pain! And I think there are likely better ways to get mould off.
streetlight98   [Sep 13, 2011 at 08:11 PM]
Oxy-Clean. Gets the tough stains out. Razz Laughing Bleach will work. That's what my dad uses when we get mold in the garage

Mold on a light? Now that's crazy.
