I do love the power bracket.
Form109   [Mar 13, 2011 at 06:43 AM]
i like all kinds...though the GE is the one most commonly seen.
LilCinnamon   [Dec 31, 2011 at 08:50 PM]
I never knew they mad a 400 watt version. o.o

And what's wrong with the thumbnail?
streetlight98   [Dec 31, 2011 at 08:58 PM]
The 400w MV version of this is the most common! Razz
gailgrove   [Dec 31, 2011 at 09:05 PM]
Yeah they make a 400 watt merc (did make anyways) and they still make a 400 watt PSMH version, for some reason HPS is a maximum of 250 watts.
streetlight98   [Dec 31, 2011 at 09:14 PM]
After 250w HPS, the orange glow gets unbareable. Razz Laughing
Form109   [Dec 31, 2011 at 11:36 PM]
yeah 400 Watt MV powerbrackets are most common..HPS one's are more seldom seen..though when they do appear i see 200 Watt ones are most often seen.

Very few powerbrackets i see are Metal Halide.

There are no powerbrackets here at all unless they're privatly owned. there ARE a few HPS NEMA heads in the Pascoag utility area (not mantained by NGrid, but fed by them). It is kinda odd seeing a M-250R2 used as a private area light, but kinda cool too I guess. I'd rather have a cobrahead in my driveway with controlled optics rather than a NEMA head that would throw more light in my windows than on my driveway.

I know of a few powerbrackets around where I live, Mercury Vapor ones, Most I know of are out though. o.o I have not seen a working powerbracket in my area yet.

They are maintained by IREA, the utility that favors Mercury Vapor, it seems they don't take care of their power brackets though.

We have a few bracket fixtures too, mainly for PAL lighting.
Form109   [Jan 01, 2012 at 01:10 AM]
so far the most common bracket i run across is the GE Bracket...the AEL bracket is much less common.

@Ian i don't know what's wrong with the thumbnail it's been like that ever since this picture got fixed cause it was blank for a while.
streetlight98   [Jan 01, 2012 at 03:11 AM]
The large pic is like that too.
Form109   [Jan 04, 2012 at 06:50 AM]
it's the only picture in the gallery i've noticed distorted like this.
GullWhiz   [Jan 04, 2012 at 03:20 PM]
I will fix it..OK....anyway in PEPCO there are tons of Powerbrackets and Ballast in Arm and a few Sylvania power brackets....a lot were neglected for a while, but lately PEPCO has improved their lighting servicing from what I noticed, and a lot of Powerbrackets (pretty much all were MV) has been relamped with new MV lamp, but some got a ballast replacement and was turned to HPS while working MV stays MV. So I saw this one row of MV powerbrackets that became HPS except one that stayed MV in a private property. (they REALLY needed to be serviced, and glad they did although if it was sooner maybe they would have stayed MV!) Oh well.

are there any powerbracket's avalible with Glass refractors?..the GE Conical refractor im pretty sure is plastic.

and jace can you throw a Gumball on your powerbracket like you did in that old photo?
gailgrove   [Jan 06, 2012 at 01:22 AM]
The AEL power bracket has a glass refractor option, I don't think any of the GEs ever did though.
GullWhiz   [Jan 06, 2012 at 01:26 AM]
The AEL powerbracket is called "Ballast in Arm" I had one before...
Form109   [Jan 06, 2012 at 01:40 AM]
what happened to your AEL Ballast in arm?..and don't you have Two GE Brackets now jace?

Gumball + Powerbracket = Good Idea! Smile

I think Darren also posted a pic of a Powr/Ball on LG before but it got deleted when they ran out of space.
