Two nice fixtures, I think the M-400 A1 is HPS, not sure though, it most likely is HPS. While the clamshell is DEFINATELY Mercury Vapor.

you can try looking through the lens carefully see if the lamp looks coated or not....that's the trick!

Ian, that's a M-400 split door not an M-400A. The M-400A1 didn't even exist anyways.
