Now remember that this was made in 1989 and at the time of technology has yet develop high power white LED. I am assuming that they are three 10 or 20 Watts halogen incandescent light bulbs. The actors did not put the flashlight away due that they are wired to AC outlet routed from their hand to inside of the costume.
