Compton, CA is changing all of its lights to Pulse Start Metal Halide. Even the Southern California Edison owned lights are being changed, here's one of the wooden pole mounted ones.
I find it sort of ironic that generally small cobraheads are used for 250W HPS, but for 250W MH/PSMH medium-sized fixtures tend to be used more than smaller sized ones. It's ironic because HPS lamps cycle earlier in smaller fixtures while MH lamps are unaffected by the heat buildup in smaller fixtures.
