TiCoune66   [Dec 25, 2010 at 09:45 PM]
That photocontrol was looking at you! I guess it was like "Hey don't replace me! I still work!".
gailgrove   [Dec 25, 2010 at 09:48 PM]
Or maybe "please replace me and give me a good home so I don't get thrown out when I start day-burning" Laughing
gmercury2000   [Dec 25, 2010 at 09:59 PM]
Yeah gailgrove is right Laughing although it would probably be changed to sodium before it would dayburn

I see these Westy fixtures occasionally in my area in MI. Very distinctive tall PC socket. This has the same mounting arm as mine (from late 60's..maybe '67) except it came with a NOS Fisher Pierce unit and the hood is different...has the ripples.
streetlight98   [Mar 25, 2011 at 09:51 PM]
is that a glass refractor?
gmercury2000   [Mar 26, 2011 at 03:25 AM]
Nope all our refractors are plastic! At least for the NEMA's
LilCinnamon   [Mar 26, 2011 at 07:05 AM]
This looks like the NEMA Jace sent to me. xD Prolly is the exact same model.

Refractor looks the same too.
gmercury2000   [Mar 26, 2011 at 02:04 PM]
Yup. I have a few of these. These are great fixtures, in 3 years I have only cganged out about 3-4 of these due to bad ballasts
gailgrove   [Mar 26, 2011 at 02:07 PM]
Is that how you got your few of them? You should post some more pictures of your fixture collection Very Happy
gmercury2000   [Mar 26, 2011 at 03:18 PM]
lol no, at work we get a release form for old equipment. Usually ones that were taken down due to upgrades!
mercuryvaporrocks   [Mar 26, 2011 at 03:26 PM]
Was this light removed?
gmercury2000   [Mar 26, 2011 at 04:52 PM]
Nope this one's still in service! I actually went past it about a week ago and it's still going strong!
streetlight98   [May 10, 2013 at 01:34 AM]
man i'd love to find a PC like that. Cool
gmercury2000   [Apr 27, 2015 at 08:41 PM]
Sadly there aren't many of them left around here. Once contractors went through most of what remained was changed. Luckily I was able to save most of them. Though I occasionally find some oldies they are for the most part gone.
streetlight98   [Apr 28, 2015 at 12:43 AM]
Contractors? Did the city take over ownership of the lights and then contract the maintenance out to private companies? Did they install HPS ones in their place or use cobraheads or LEDs? The one Jace sent me will remain safe in my collection. Cool Looks great with the new coat of hammered silver paint like these originally had.
GEsoftwhite100watts   [Apr 28, 2015 at 02:02 AM]
Same here, especially outdoor slimlines! Problem with those is when people put 60w energy saver lamps in.
Same in CA, remember that one gas station cum muffler shop in Atascadero we streetviewed Mike?
gmercury2000   [Apr 28, 2015 at 02:07 AM]
No, we have contractors that basically go through and relamp and pc all the street lights. Luckily where this is located is still mostly mercs. We still do the service calls for outages. It's a routine maintenance that's required.
streetlight98   [Apr 28, 2015 at 02:49 AM]
Yep I remember that one Andy. Smile

Ah so they won't relamp these? Do they relamp and PC lights even if they work? Here they tend to replace lamps and PCs together but I've noticed cases where the old PC is left in place (since the FP Sun-Tech PCs they're using suck in plain English).
