Hmm doesn't look that well lit, sports lighters would of been a much better choice, but its a very cool setup Cool

It looks dimer in the picture. Newer MH systems are on the way, but the new ones arecobras too. I talked to the owner and he said he's stickin' with these because they offer a diffused light and light both the track and the stands. So MV is out and so aren't the fixtures, but new PMH M-400's, I belive, are on the way in a cuple of years.

Well you should try to get the old ballasts when they do that Very Happy

There replaceing the whole fixtures. I talked to the owner, but he insisted it is cheaper to get new fixtures. I'll try to get as many as I can. That way, I can send them to people on here and the L-G. Smile I doubt that'll happen, but I can try.

$300 vs $80 for ballasts, hmm, really I think he needs to work on his math skills Laughing

Getting a ballast is cheaper but it's harder to install ballasts in certain fixtures, replacing the whole fixture is easier.

i'd rather see converted fixtures too,but its easier to remove the old fixture, put a new one up than it is to Swap Ballasts.....Unless its a Powerdoor fixture where a Door can simply be changed.

Form109   [Oct 17, 2010 at 07:17 AM]

I'm not positive I can get any, but I'll try. All are 400w MV They're lots of AE25, lots of origional M-400's, tons of OV25's, 3 or 4 NEW M-400's (probe MH), 1 M-400 split (deglassed), maybe others. Anyway, good stuff and I hope to get you guys some Smile

ALSO:
To add to you comment on a fixture being more expencive, this person doesn't get them new, they're state surplus from the electric co.

Well, these never ended up being replaced... until now. The track is is undergoing an LED conversion. I haven't seen it myself but was told by a close friend and fellow enthusiast who works there with my uncle that these are currently being replaced. Don't know what the new LEDs are (brand, type, color, wattage, etc.)
