I have heard some of those were called OVC I believe..
lite_lover   [Jan 23, 2010 at 09:01 AM]
Yes that's right...this may be one as it has a short latch.
GullWhiz   [Jan 23, 2010 at 09:33 AM]
Also I noticed those nifty glass insulators, not something I see around here!!!
lite_lover   [Jan 23, 2010 at 09:58 AM]
Yeah those are old,I have never seen any of those here.

Some places in Colorado have glass insulators. And some of the electrical lines are new! (ish)

Glass insulators on distribution lines is fairly uncommon now adays...however i still see poles lined with these Glass insulators on Railroad poles.

OVC??? What's that???
Form109   [Jan 21, 2011 at 11:10 PM]
cutoff version of the OVZ?.....Canadian Silver Version?....i dont know either.
lite_lover   [Jan 22, 2011 at 01:36 AM]
The OVC was a Canadian made Crouse-Hinds fixture similar to the OVZ,a pic of mine here .
streetlight98   [Jan 22, 2011 at 12:04 PM]
Is there any difference? You can get an unpainted OVZ.....
lite_lover   [Jan 22, 2011 at 06:55 PM]
Not really, just that it was made in Canada with a Canadian made ballast etc. and most fixtures during that time were supplied with a Crouse-Hinds branded refractor.
gailgrove   [Jan 24, 2011 at 12:07 AM]
But the OVC isn't made any more so we just use the OVZ Smile
