Dual-circuit 115 KV line.
|
One of the turning towers of the dual-circuit 115 KV line.
One side is going to the substation about 5 miles away and the other side is returning the electricity back to where it came from. Not sure which one goes there and which one is coming back, but my best guess is the left side goes to it and the right side is the returning electricity.
I think this entire string of lines were build big enough to carry a 240 KV line even though they are 115 KV in case of growth, so they can upgrade the voltage without having to change all the towers or make bigger ones and do all this work just to upgrade the voltage. With them this big all they have to do is change the substation these end at for a 240 KV line and change around the wires at where these go, and leave all the rest alone.
