M-250R1 Ready for the Party
|
We're having some family over for ym 16th birthday this evening so I figured I'd test how much brighter the 175W MV is compared to the 100W MV. This is NOT staying out long, as it is NOS. I just want to see how much better 175W MV lights the yard (or if it's actually too bright).
I used the plastic lens from the HPS M-250R1 in this since i didn't want to add any unnecessary weight to my poor excuse for a light pole lol. This summer I'm going to install a better pole if i can get my hands on a 1-1/4" EMT bender... The PC is the same Ripley Sunswitch I had on the NEMA head. The lamp is a late 80s Svlvania 175W /DX BT28.

@ Darren; thanks!
@Aaron; thanks! Yeah I really like the M-250R1 too but I don't want to leave it out because it's NOS. BTW, the 175W lights the yard better than 100W MV but there's more "spilled" light into other yards. I did this as a test to see the yard because I plan to install a 175W silver M-250R out back this summer after i get that light and install a more robust pole so i can use a glass lens. I need to find a 1-1/4" EMT bender though...
the light pole doesn't get much use since it plugs in to the outside outlet (plugged in only when needed). I have also a 70W PSMH wall mounted fixture that used to get good use when it was needed but now that i have the streetlight outside it's not used much lol.
